Beautiful Bermuda

Bermuda has been described as the Switzerland of the Atlantic because it is a first world country, with all of the attributes of a tropical Island. While only 21 miles long, it is an island rich in history, culture and activities. it's often described pink-sand beaches are nothing short of spectacular. Bermuda is so much more than it's azure waters. Be prepared. You may have never seen colors like this, and it has an extraordinary range of museums, forts, historical sites and activities to visit and experience.

Bermuda is ideal for a quick vacation escape, just about an hour and a half flight from most eastern US airports and under seven from London. Bermudian friendliness will pervade your entire stay – Bermudians are justifiably proud of their island and natural hosts. Everywhere you go, you will find smiling Bermudians offering to help. Compared to most places in the world, this is an incredibly safe island. You can feel perfectly safe walking almost everywhere. You won’t be bothered by people trying to sell you things, you’ll be left alone on the beach and you can wander the main town of Hamilton and see the standard of shopping you would expect in many very highbrow destinations. If you see a mosquito, call someone because they are virtually an extinct species.

Bermuda has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world and it shows. Roads are good, telephones work and things happen when they are scheduled to. It is also one of the cleanest.
You might imagine it as a tiny representation of the UK, with wonderful western overtones, all in an ambiance of balmy breezes and magnificent choices for dining and playing. You have to try snorkeling in Bermuda, as well as deep-sea fishing, bonefish casting and scuba diving. Or just take a sailboat and gently sail away a day.

Because the island is small, you will have ocean views all around you. While it's too small to allow car rentals, you can rent a moped, take advantage of the excellent ferry system, grab a taxi or just stroll, and then bask, undisturbed on one of the magnificent beaches. The Island itself is almost a country club, no high fences around the hotels. One of the biggest complaints of departing guests is that they didn’t have enough time to see everything, but then there is always next time. Bermuda enjoys one of the highest repeat factors in the world.Above all, this is an island that somehow conspires to capture the heart, and you will feel something different here. Maybe it’s just letting go of the smog, the stresses and strains of every day life. Maybe it’s the warmth of the people or the climate. Or all those years of welcoming visitors. Whatever it is, be prepared to want to stay on forever. As you sip a Dark N’ Stormy (Black rum and gingerbeer), and watch a magnificent sunset, stroll a beach in the moon light, or take that first dip in the crystal clear waters, you will likely realize this is where you were meant to be!

Bermuda average temperatures and rainfall by month
Showing mean (average of high and low for month) figures, much cooler in winter than the Caribbean or Florida.
